How does it work?

There are 3 ways to use PennyTel Personal Phone.
Use one method or all three.

1. Online Personal Phone

Use any internet connected computer anywhere to make phone calls.

Just sign in with your PennyTel username and password to make and receive calls.
(The computer needs to have a web browser, speaker and microphone)

2. Compatible Mobile Phone

Use your internet enabled phone to connect to the PennyTel network.

SIP Phone - Allows you to make calls through the PennyTel Network if your phone has an in-built SIP Client
Mobile Application - Allows you to use our PennyTel JAVA Application on your Phone if your phone supports JAVA MIDP2.0
Basic - Allows you to use our SMS and Callback services. Any phone can be used for our Callback services!

3. Phone Adapter

Enjoy VOIP calls even when your computer is switched off.

Buy a phone adapter so you can plug your existing analogue phone into your internet router. Connect a fax machine the same way.

Call forwarding

Have your calls forwarded to any number you like. Choose to receive calls based on who is calling, when they are calling and where they are calling from. PennyTel members can eliminate unwanted calls and avoid excessive charges when travelling overseas (roaming).

Voice Mail

When you can't answer the phone, choose to send your voice messages to either your email address or to PennyTel's message bank. Retrieve your Voice Mail at a time to suit you. Using your PennyTel account, dial 778 to retrieve your voicemail. You can also access your voicemail by calling (02)82826188, (03)90930898 or 1300886314 within Australia.

Traditional Phone Number (DID)

For as low as AUD5.00 a year, you can have a traditional phone number in Australia, Singapore*, Hong Kong*, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and enjoy unique extra benefits.

3 ways for people to get in touch with you

1. Buy your own traditional phone number - only $5 a year. You'll receive many other features and people can call you by simply dialling from any phone.

2. Give other PennyTel members your member number. Any PennyTel member can call you for FREE across the PennyTel network.

3. Give people a special PennyTel number to call you for the cost of a local call wherever you are. They simply call the PennyTel switchboard number and use your member number as the extension to connect directly to your phone.
